Orthobiologics

Grafton® DBM is a patented mix of demineralised bone matrix (DBM) and carrier. Grafton® DBM has been proven to be the most osteoinductive DBM in the athymic rat model1 and is the only DBM that can state in its FDA summary that its’ manufacturing process “...consistently produces DBM that is osteoinductive...”.

Grafton® DBM is also highly osteoconductive. It uses proprietary bone fibres, which have been shown to be superior to particles (Boden et al, Spine 24(7), 1999). Both osteoinductivity and osteoconductivity are essential components of an effective bone graft. In addition, Grafton® is also the only DBM to have level one clinical data comparing it to autograft as well as a recombinant BMP.

The Grafton® DBM product range includes:

Paste

Grafton® Paste provides superior handling and resists irrigation. Its robust consistency is easy to mould into defects.
Where to use – Interbody spacers, bone fractures, trauma defects

Putty

Grafton® Putty is the most versatile form of demineralised bone. Its consistency allows it to be used in a variety of applications and easily mixes with either allograft or autograft bone.
Where to use – Interbody spacers, spinal fusions, joint and trauma defects, bone fractures

Gel

Grafton® Gel is an autograft extender which can be injected percutaneously. It mixes well with cancellous chips.
Where to use – Fill cysts, tumours and other well-delineated voids

Crunch

Grafton® Crunch is a mixture of demineralised bone fibres and demineralised cortical bone cubes that pack securely into bone defects to provide a firmer graft site. Crunch eliminates the need to add additional chips.
Where to use – Joint and trauma defects, bone cyst and tumours, tibial plateaus

Flex

Grafton® Flex is a flexible sheet that contours to the graft site. Easy to customise, Flex can be applied whole or cut into smaller strips or pieces.
Where to use – Fracture repair, bridge bone gaps or fragments, with strut grafts

Orthoblend

Grafton® Orthoblend, available in large and small chips, combines demineralised bone fibres with cancellous chips or crushed cancellous chips for use in varying size defects.
Where to use – Trauma defects, bone fractures, cysts and tumours

Matrix PLF

Grafton® Matrix is designed for the use in posterolateral spinal fusions. Its unique trough like design allows for ease of use with allograft/autograft bone. Contains two grafts for use on each side of the transverse process.
Where to use – Posterolateral spinal fusions

Matrix Strips

Grafton® Matrix Strips are designed with the scoliosis patient’s needs in mind. These long narrow strips of DBM overlap for continuous bone graft contact. There are two grafts per pack.
Where to use
– Scoliosis and cervical spinal fusions
