April 2010

Following on from an increase in demand for training on the AxiaLIF technique, Surgi C and Trans 1 are pleased to announce that training sessions are now available in Manchester.
It was felt it was important to have the extra training sessions organised within the UK, due to constraints that have restricted some from attending training sessions abroad. This has also given the surgeons, Mr Todd and Mr Kapoor at Stepping Hill Hospital an opportunity to share their skills through becoming trainers.
The AxiaLIF training allows attendees to experience; a lecture with a question and answer session that is chaired by experienced surgeons, at least one live surgery and to undergo full training on a Timmy model. After completing the training, surgeons will be able to to carry out an AxiaLIF procedure with the guidance of a Surgi C specialist.
The first training session benefited from having two contrasting surgeries carried out and had positive feedback from the delegates, where it was thought that the day ‘was excellent, with excellent organisation’.
Training sessions are also carried out in hospitals for theatre practitioners and can also be covered as part of the Theatre Practitioner Training sessions, if required. For further information on training sessions available, please click here.
